The melting point of niobium is 2468˚C, and the density of it is 8.6 g/cm3. Niobium Sheet & Niobium Plate Production Technology
- Niobium sheets & plate is usually made by cold rolling. The total processing rate is controlled at 80% ~ 90% of slab thickness, and each processing rate is controlled at 6% ~ 8% of slab thickness. In order to ensure the surface quality of sheet metal, the blank of forging forming should be free of defect, unpolluted, and the roller surface should be clean.
- The flow of niobium alloy sheet, niobium strip and niobium foil processing and heat treatment is: electron beam melting of Nb ingot — forging at room temperature (or < 400℃) — annealing — roughing — annealing — strip rolling — annealing — foil rolling — heat treatment.
