XOT metals provides a nitinol tube (Niti hypotube) with a Superelastic Effect elastic (reversible) response to an applied temperature, caused by a phase transformation between the austenitic and martensitic phases of a crystal.

Nitinol is a metal alloy, that exhibits two closely related and unique properties: shape memory and superelasticity. Superelasticity occurs in a narrow temperature range just above the transformation temperature; in these conditions, no heating is necessary to return to the pre-deformation shape. Our nitinol tube (Niti Hypotube) can be customized.

Active Austenite Finish Temperature of NiTi Tube
The austenite finish temperature of the finished tube (active Af) with an outer diameter in the range of 0.25 to 7.0 mm (0.01 to 0.275 in.) shall be measured on representative full round tube sample(s) using the bend and free recovery method described in Test Method ASTM F 2082-15.

Length & Straightness of Nitinol Tube
Nitinol tube can be delivered in either exact length or random length, for random length orders, a maximum and minimum length shall be discussed. Straightness requirements and measurement methods shall be discussed.

Permissible Outer and Inner Surface Imperfections of Nitinol Tube
Outer and inner surface imperfections criteria on tubes shall be discussed.

Typical applications:
Medical: catheters, needles, dental products, nickel-titanium tube parts, nickel-titanium stents, bone cement conveyors, etc.
Civil: sensor fasteners, pipe joints, memory alloy rings, etc.

Hypotube definition
Although there is no standard definition of hypotube, we use this term to refer to small tubes. Usually made of stainless steel or nickel-titanium alloy. It can be used in stents or various other medical devices.

Nitinol hypotube
XOT metals provides cost-effective flexible, superelastic, shape memory nitinol (niti) hypotubes for complex medical applications. Due to the cost of original hypotubes and the variety of applications we manufacture, we may have some small quantities of Nitinol hypotubes in stock or stock. We may be able to sell materials to other manufacturers. If you have questions about your existing burr-free or tight-tolerance NiTi suppliers, give us a call today!
For various endoscopic devices for cardiovascular and urology applications, there are many different laser cutting modes on different hypotubes (304, 316L, Ni-Ti, L605, etc.), such as continuous spiral cutting mode, custom Cutting patterns, interrupted spiral cutting patterns, radial cutting patterns, etc.

Niti Hypotubes

Laser-cut hypotubes are commonly used in delivery systems for minimally invasive interventions due to their thrust, trackability, torque, and kink resistance. These performance characteristics make hypotubes the first choice for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty applications.
Edgetech Industries is a supplier of custom hypotubes to the medical device industry. We have advanced equipment with a high degree of automation and good repeatability. We can achieve tight tolerances on advanced medical hypotube designs. We can grind steps, notches, and tapers on the outer diameter of the hypotube. The minimum hypotube wall thickness we can maintain is about 0.001 inches.

Our super-elastic NiTi tubes feature excellent flexibility, kink-free, and shape memory properties. They have been used for a variety of purposes such as cardiovascular translational operations and a catheter. About 40 days will be necessary from receiving a drawing to deliver a product with your original specifications.
