Comparing to pure tantalum, Ta-W Tantalum-Tungsten alloys possess good mechanical properties of pure tantalum, excellent corrosion resistance, but higher strength and better performance at evaluated temperature.
These tantalum tungsten alloy maintaining a low temperature plasticity of pure tantalum, but also has high strength and oxidation resistance. After the 1960s, tantalum tungsten alloy had been used as a high temperature structural and corrosion-resistant material in aerospace and chemical industries for long time.
