Descriptions of Tantalum Tungsten (Ta10W) Alloy

Tantalum is a tough, ductile, brilliant gray metal. Tantalum and Tantalum alloys (Ta2.5W or Ta10W) are used in electronic components, chemical processing, medical industry, aerospace, superconductivity industry and a lot of other applications. The advantages of tantalum are in an excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature strength, good machinability and bio-compatibility.

Tantalum-Tungsten (TaW) excels due to its sensible mechanical properties and glorious corrosion resistance. Tantalum tungsten is a high strength metal alloy. It has a high melting point, tension resistance, and corrosion resistance. XOT’s tantalum alloys are made using powder metallurgy techniques by mixing tantalum powder with alloy elements and filling them into molds, compressing them at temperatures of up to 2000 bars, and then sintering them. Ta10W alloy (90% tantalum, 10% tungsten) is one of the most popular alloys. Our Ta10W Alloy is thus especially well suited for the heat exchangers and heating components used in the chemical instrumentation construction field.

Tantalum Tungsten Alloy Sheets / Plate / Board Applications

  • Used in chemical industry and aerospace industry(strength is higher than pure tantalum, and corrosion resistance is similar)
  • Ta-2.5W alloy is mainly used in the manufacture of heaters, cooling coils, heat exchangers and reactors.
  • Ta-7.5w alloy is mainly used for chemical corrosion equipment in the spring material and other corrosion-resistant elastic components.
  • Ta-10W alloy can be used as gas temperature of 3300 degrees celsius above the liquid rocket engine thrust combustion chamber, high temperature vacuum furnace heating body and other high temperature components.
